Stay To Play:

These few recent cheer seasons many coaches and gym owners are looking at a new hassle. We are now forced to stay at a pre-set hotels at certain competitions. The competition organizers announce to a city group to reserve hotels for this event. This is done because there may be another event in the city that can possibly take away from people staying at particular hotels in and around the competition area.

Unfortunately as great as this may help us out. It can also hurt some teams. Since there is a limited amount of hotels this makes prices an issue.Once the limited amount of cheaper hotels are taken they will be forced to go with a higher priced hotels which frustrates low income families. Stay to play is enforced when the competition is large enough. I hope this helps future coaches and future cheer parents understand how and why this works.
